Software

This page lists the general software I currently use, along with some minimal rationale for using it. I have only listed the software which I find particularly interesting or useful, and which I've settled on after having tried alternatives. However, I strongly prefer Libre software (both ideologically and practically), so you might not find a lot of proprietary stuff.

Page Description
Software - Laptop Software I use exclusively on my laptop.
Software - Smartphone Software I use exclusively on my phone.

Chats

I have a self-hosted Matrix server with bridges for different chatting app, deployed using this repo on a free-tier Google Cloud Compute VM. I use Element as my matrix client: it's beautiful and well-polished on desktop, though it has it's quirks on Android.

Notes

I use Anytype for my personal notes. It is very well-designed, beautiful, and has everything I need for my personal use. I also use Obsidian for my personal knowledge stuff, journal, and maintaining this website (yes it's written in markdown).

Syncing

I use Syncthing to keep my documents and other things in sync with my phone and tablet.

Fonts

Inter is my go-to sans-serif font. It's just so elegant! Try it out here.
For terminal/code, I use Iosevka Extended.

Browser

Firefox everywhere, with uBlock Origin and more than a dozen of other extensions. It is not possible for me to browse the web without uBlock Origin anymore.
